Teacher Training
Supporting higher scores
Cambridge English Qualifications (CEQ) Teacher Training – Supporting higher scores through effective preparation. This four module Training course is designed for teachers that are either actively preparing students for a CEQ, or those getting ready to do so.
This professional development course consists of four, three-hour modules that cover the parts of the exam in great detail. Taught with a focus on interactivity, the teachers become the students and with the assistance of rich and engaging materials, receive in depth instruction on how best to support their students in turn. Please see the module descriptions below. The training course order is identical to that of the test itself, allowing for further continuity and information cohesion. Please note that there are two versions of this course available, with either a General or Business focus.
1. Reading
This training module will give detailed information on the structure of the Reading papers together with examples of the types of questions asked and the skills needed to answer them through practical application. Time is limited during the test so it is important to be able to read quickly to identify the correct answers. Advice and examples will be given on how to avoid ‘silly’ mistakes that can cost students a lot of marks.
2. Writing
Writing This training module will result in detailed information on the structure of the Writing test together with examples of the types of questions asked. Different writing skills are tested, and these will be discussed, illustrated and practiced. Advice on layout and organisation will be given together with examples of common errors.
3. Listening
Listening This training module will give detailed information on the structure of the Listening Test together with examples of the types of questions asked and how to answer them. Hands-on techniques to help students identify correct answers will be provided as well as ways to avoid the most common errors.
4. Speaking

Practice will be given on each part and the ‘Dos and Don’ts’ will be clarified.
